Responsible European authorities should issue a permit for the use of the Russian vaccine against the coronavirus» Sputnik V» as soon as possible, Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz said on the OE24 TV channel.
«With regard to Sputnik V and other vaccines, I strongly insist that the responsible agency in Europe issue a permit for all safe vaccines as soon as possible. The more vaccines we have at our disposal, the better, » he said.
At the same time, Kurz called the chances of Austria getting Sputnik V «quite real».
Earlier, a delegation of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF)held talks with Kurz in Vienna, including the issue of Russian vaccine supplies.
